About

Valley Forge preserves the 1777-78 Continental Army encampment and is free to enter. Kids can look inside reconstructed soldier huts, run on wide lawns and watch deer, and the Visitor Center has exhibits, a theater and restrooms. The park grounds are open every day from 7 AM until 30 minutes after sunset; the Visitor Center is open daily 9 AM to 5 PM. Historic buildings such as Washington's Headquarters keep their own seasonal hours.
