Brandywine Creek State Park has wide open meadows where kids can run, plus shaded trails along the creek and a nature center with programs. Easy loop trails near the main parking area suit little legs; the creek access is popular for rock-skipping and wading in summer. A per-vehicle entry fee applies March 1 through November 30. Pack snacks, since there is no food service in the park.
