Stone Harbor's beaches are calmer than the bigger boardwalk towns, with no amusement piers. Daily, weekly and seasonal tags are sold by the borough, and Avalon and Stone Harbor honor each other's tags. The Wetlands Institute is a short drive away for a non-beach outing. Parking near the beach fills quickly on summer weekends.
