Historic Smithville is a colonial-style village of shops and eateries built around a small lake. For kids the draw is the miniature train and carousel ($3 each), paddle boats in warm months, footbridges and ducks. Paths are paved and flat for strollers and there are plenty of casual food options. The train and carousel run during shop hours in spring, summer and fall and on weekends in winter when it is above 50 degrees.
