East Bradford, Chester County, PA
571-acre Natural Lands preserve near West Chester with grassy meadow paths and creek views; no restrooms, closed Wednesdays.
About
Stroud Preserve is a free Natural Lands property west of West Chester with unpaved trails through meadows, woods and along the Brandywine. Trails range from grassy paths to rocky, rooty woodland routes, so it suits confident walkers rather than strollers; the flat gravel access road from the lot is the easiest option for little legs. There are no restrooms or water fountains, and picnicking is not allowed. Leashed dogs are welcome. Open Thursday through Tuesday, dawn to dusk; closed Wednesdays.
